Online Safety

Knowing how to keep safe online is an essential skill and central to children's digital development. It is not only parents but teachers and the wider community that play a key role in 'normalising' online safety behaviour. On this page  there is access  to teaching and learning resources to be used in class, links to policies and templates for schools  to embed a practice of online safety standards, we have also recommended some of the most important online safety websites which can be shared on school websites.

**Highly recommended** The Education for a Connected World framework describes the Digital knowledge and skills that children and young people should have the opportunity to develop at different ages and stages of their lives. It highlights what a child should know in terms of current online technology, its influence on behaviour and development, and what skills they need to be able to navigate it.
The websites below can be placed and shared on your school websites.

Digital Parenting helps you to get more involved with the technology that young people enjoy. Whether you’re a parent, a carer, a teacher or a teenager, it’s all about building children’s confidence and resilience so that they get the very best out of the fast-moving, awe-inspiring, sometimes-overwhelming digital world.
